Global Sports Industry Congress 2010

The second edition of Eventica’s annual sports industry summits, GSIC 2010 highlighted a number of topical themes, including the opportunities and challenges associated with emerging markets. We will also looked at preparations for the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, and how London served as a useful model for other host cities or nations.

Speakers included Faruk Nafız Özak, State Minister for Youth and Sport of the Republic of Turkey; Paul Deighton, CEO of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games; Jeanine Pires, Director, Brazil 2016; Marcin Herra, President of the Board, PL.2012 (Euro 2012 Football Championship) and a number members of the International Olympic Committee, including Sir Craig Reedie CBE, Member of the Executive Board, and Peter Tallberg, Patrick Baumann (Secretary General of FIBA), Barry Maister (Secretary General of the New Zealand Olympic Committee), Pat McQuaid (President of the International Cycling Union) and Alex Gilady.
