We designed and produced the countdown clock unveiling ceremony – an iconic moment when footballers and fans celebrated the 1,000-day countdown to the start of the FIFA World Cup™ in Moscow.
The search for the official mascot for the Russia 2018 World Cup was to be one of the LOC’s first to engage with the Russian people on the road to 2018.
It was Eventica’s responsibility to organise and promote the nationwide competition to design the mascot.
We identified our core target group: the thousands of young, up-and-coming graphic designers and artists who were developing their skills in Russia’s art and design institutes.
Eventica planned and ran a brain-storming session and design workshop, led by some of Russia’s leading designers, which was live-streamed across Russia to kick-start the search for an engaging and world-beating design – which would both form the brand ID of Russia 2018 as well as bring the Russian people a sense of ownership and pride in their World Cup.
Eventica provided VIP management, hospitality and logistical operations services for the Draw. A global audience of approximately 94.8 million tuned in for the spectacular show, blending football with some of the best in Russian music and culture.
