In line with established traditions the Russian Rhapsody Gala Evening will once again inspire a foreign audience with the talent of Russian classical performers. Star of the Gelikon Opera, member of the distinguished aristocratic dynasty and renowned performer Maria Maksakova will perform at Russian Rhapsody in Abu Dhabi.
Grand daughter of one of Russia's most prominent Bolshoi artists, Maria had achieved instant acclaim for her rare vocal faculties and exceptional performing capabilities. After instruction with some of the best Opera masters in Russia and Europe, Maria was instantly accepted into the Novaya Opera theatre troupe. Soon after, she became a Guest Solo Artist at the Bolshoi Theatre. Each new performance was met with exceptional praise from audience and critics alike. Several performances including A. Toma's "Ophelia" in Hamlet, Rimsky-Korsakoff's Snegurochka and "Oscar" in GiuseppeVerdi's "Masquerade Ball" have all brought Maria Maksakova international commendation. In 2005 Maksakova became a Soloist at the Gelikon Opera Theatre.
Maria has also gained notoriety for her cinematic performances. Following her debut in Nikita Mihalkov's Sibirsky Tsirulnik, Maria's roles took her to new heights - she went on to star in "Savva" and "Fotograf" and is constantly receiving offers for new roles.
The Diva's success transcends to the fashion industry, where she maintains her lead as a model as well as being the face of selected French cosmetics.
Last year, Maria Maksakova was crowned Russia's Most Beautiful Classical Artist.
