Britain and Russia: Partnership and Progress

In June 2003 Eventica held a unique conference timed to coincide with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s State Visit to the United Kingdom, the first by a Russian leader in over 150 years.

This event, titled Britain and Russia: Partnership and Progress, focused on the diversity and  depth of Russia’s commercial ties with Great Britain, as well as touching on other aspects of the bi-lateral relationship.

Keynote speakers included Lord Owen, Chairman, Yukos International; Peter Hambro, Chairman & Chief Executive, Peter Hambro Mining plc; Boris Titov, Chairman, Corporate Ethics Commission, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs; Igor Yurgens, Vice President, Russian Union of Entrepreneurs and Industrialists; Lord Marshall, Chairman, CBI International Advisory Board, & Chairman, British Airways; Aleksei Mordashov, Chairman, Severstal-Group Holding; Stephen O’Sullivan, Co-Head of Research, United Financial Group; Martin Graham, Director, Market Services, London Stock Exchange.

Roger Munnings, President and CEO, KPMG Russia/CIS, chaired the opening session of the conference.

Afternoon workshops highlighted a number of critical issues, including Small and Medium Sized Business Development and High Technologies.
