'Russia and Europe: Integration and Corporate Growth' was Eventica's first ever event outside Great Britain and Russia.
A truly “pan-European event,” it brought participants from all over Germany, including Frankfurt, Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Essen and Dusseldorf, from Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Nizhniy Novgorod and other Russian cities, and from European capitals such as London, Brussels and Barcelona. The USA was represented as well, with a delegate from Chicago.
The participants list included more than 80 representatives of top Russian and European industrial companies, government bodies, investment banks and regional funds, legal firms and business consultancies.
The objective was to bring together a small but nevertheless diverse group of people from across Europe to discuss several carefully selected issues related to Russia’s economic development, in an exclusive and relaxed setting. The two main themes were corporate re-structuring in Russia and the extent to which new approaches to management have truly taken hold, and the complexities of Russia’s relationship with the EU and future prospects.
Venue was the Schlosshotel Kronberg, an elegant Victorian castle less than 30 minutes drive from Frankfurt, which offered easy access to participants flying in from Russia and all around Germany and Western Europe.
The proceedings began with a private dinner on the Thursday evening (followed by coffee, liqueurs and cigars, courtesy of Cigar Clan, in the library).
The programme continued on Friday, December 13 with the morning session chaired by Igor Yurgens, Vice President of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and presentations from a number of high profile speakers, including Boris Fyodorov, Member of the Board, Gazprom, Honorary Chairman, United Financial Group; Alexis Rodzianko, CEO, Regional Head of Russia, Deutsche Bank; Sergei Nedoroslev, President, KASKOL Group, and Guy de Selliers, Director, Norilsk Nickel and Wimm Ball Dann, and Advisor to European Commission and Russian Government on Energy Dialogue.
Roger Munnings, President and CEO, KPMG Russia and CIS, then chaired a lively panel on corporate re-structuring, and Irene Commeau, Executive Director, European Business Club, moderated the final discussion, on “the European Question.”
Russia and Europe: Integration and Corporate Growth was sponsored by KPMG, United Financial Group, Institutional Investor and The Moscow Times.
